You can draw carbon chains easily selecting the Insert > Chain menu option or clicking on the Draw Chain ( ) icon of the Tools toolbar.

For curved chains click on the icon. The direction of the chain growth follows the mouse path.

The number of carbon atoms can be increased or decreased by dragging the mouse. The chain drawing direction is mirrored based on the direction of the mouse movements.
